More patients in the US want cosmetic surgery on their ears.
People are constantly on the look-out for new ways to improve their appearance, and experts expect the ear trend to grow in popularity in the UK.
Patients are already asking their surgeons to plump up or reduce their earlobes, according to the Guardian.
Dr. Rita Rakus says she has noticed an increase in requests for the procedure.
Women are looking for a total package to make themselves look younger, and ears can be an issue for women who wear their hair pulled back, says Dr. Rakus, a specialist in non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Patients who want plumper earlobes receive an injection of Restylane or a similar substance, at a cost of about £400. An earlobe reduction requires more drastic measures and costs around £1,000.
The Harley Medical Group reports that requests for Botox injections increased approximately 51 percent in 2007.
