Nose Re-Shaping

The technology developed through plastic and cosmetic surgery, which now allows us to completely alter and reshape our physical appearance, has proved to be life changing.

But perhaps the most remarkable development is that it is now possible to actually change the entire appearance of the face itself, including that most prominent feature, the nose.

Redefining and reshaping the nose is now becoming one of the most requested procedures currently available in cosmetic surgery. Often a simple refinement of the bridge or tip of the nose can bring a sense of balance and symmetry to the face, which can totally alter the overall appearance for the better. Plastic surgery can also be used as a practical method of relieving sinus or breathing problems caused by injury or illness.

Because of the natural delicacy of the operation, an in-depth discussion as to exactly what is required by the patient, as well as an explanation by the surgeon of what is realistically achievable, must first take place.

The operation will then take place under anaesthesia. The actual restructuring or reshaping of the nose is then effected by paring the softer surface tissues from the deeper structures through the area, which has been incised. In some circumstances, cartilage already extracted from another designated part of the body may be used to bolster the reshaping process and completely alter the profile.

The surgical operation may take upwards of two hours, and full recuperation usually takes around two weeks, although it will obviously vary from individual to individual.
