Brow Lifts

The demand for plastic and cosmetic surgery is increasingly driven by the desire to stay younger looking for much longer, and to provide the opportunity to modify those features which can now be easily improved. By making these crucial changes to the appearance, many discover a new found confidence and vastly improved self-esteem.

Brow lift surgery is means of rejuvenating the appearance of the eyebrows by smoothing out temple wrinkles, and bringing a more balanced appearance to the upper face. It can also correct the eyebrows, which may have a droopy appearance and give a sleeker overall appearance to facial lines.

During the surgical process, incisions are made at the line of the hair and excess skin and some of the muscle tissue of forehead is carefully removed. The forehead then has the appearance of being raised up, and any unwanted wrinkling is smoothed out. The effect of raising up the eyebrow is then also achieved, giving the eyes a much more youthful appearance.

The operation, usually performed under anaesthesia, can take up to two hours. Some slight bruising and swelling may be expected, but medication will keep discomfort to a minimum. Some bandaging will be necessary, but these should be removed after a few days. Stitches and any holding clips used will be removed within about two weeks. Any scarring should be minimal, and should fade completely within six months.

Though strenuous exertion should be avoided for a while, a return to completely normal activity should take no longer than two weeks.
