Breast Lift and Breast Uplift

As plastic and cosmetic surgery become more readily heavily and wide stream, the number of women taking up the option to reshape and uplift their breasts is also naturally increasing.

Often it’s not the size of the breast, which causes concern. Women want to retain the youthful shapeliness, which may have been lost to some extent through the rigours of childbirth, breast feeding, weight loss -- which may have been caused through illness -- and the natural tiredness attributed to ageing.

Uplifting and reshaping the breast is now recognised as a standard procedure in cosmetic surgery, which can be achieved without any real change to the natural size of the breast.

The plastic surgery technique involved is as follows: The surgeon carefully removes any excess of fatty tissue and skin from around the breast area, thereby creating more natural firmness. Then small incisions are made to uplift the breast, with the surgeon removing any further excess of skin remaining below the breast level. This automatically raises up the nipple and the pigmented area surrounding the nipple to give the breast a much firmer, pert appearance.

The resultant plastic surgery is then usually monitored for one or two days, after which time the patient will be allowed home. Recovery rates can vary, but usually the dressings and stitches can be removed within two weeks. The cosmetic surgeon will also advise abstinence from rigorous exercise for a few months, and advise the patient to continue wearing a specialised supportive bra until full recovery is complete.
