Breast Enlargement and Breast Implants

The way in which a woman perceives herself and, in particular, consciousness of the appearance of her breasts has a great deal to do with achieving and maintaining self-confidence. It is therefore unsurprising that breast enlargement is one of the most popular forms of modern plastic surgery, and also one of the most successful of the cosmetic procedures.

Apart from satisfying the natural desire on the part of the woman to both look good and feel attractive, cosmetic breast surgery can also remould the original shape of the bust, which may have become flaccid or reduced in size after the rigours of pregnancy, breast feeding or extensive weight loss. Alternatively, consideration of cosmetic surgery for breast enhancement may simply be a desire on the part of a woman with naturally small breasts to increase her cup size.

Probably because of the very extensive experience in the use of breast surgery nowadays, this type of plastic surgery is considered as very simple and straightforward.

The procedure is to simply insert the chosen amount of implant into the breast through a small incision, which is usually selected from the area of natural crease formed by the breast.

The process takes very little time, though most plastic surgeons would advise an overnight stay at the clinic or hospital where the surgery took place, in order to monitor the operation.

Recovery usually takes about a week, after which time the stitches and dressing will be removed and the breast enhancement process will be complete.
