Buttock Implants

Possibly the most difficult part of the body to regulate by diet or exercise, and the region about which, women in particular, feel most self-conscious, the buttocks can easily be enlarged, lifted or reshaped by the cosmetic insertion of implants, thereby improving the overall lower body shape and restoring self-confidence.

These requirements can be easily achieved through the plastic surgery technique of buttock implants.

A realistic expectation of what may be achieved is fully explained, and the required proportional changes are then agreed with the plastic surgeon, so that the implants, usually made up of silicone, can be selected.

A single incision is then made around the area at the very base of the spine, and the implants are inserted in the ideal positions to produce the required cosmetic effect. A further incision is then made on the line dividing the buttocks, and pouches are created in the raised up muscle of the buttocks. The implants are then carefully inserted into the pouches, ensuring that the appearance remains completely balanced in both cheeks.

This type of plastic surgery, using anaesthesia, will usually take up to 1 ½hrs, and will generally involve an overnight stay.

There will be some minimal bruising and swelling as a result of the surgery, and dressings will be applied and maintained for up to two weeks to ensure dryness. Some scarring may result, but will usually fade in time.

As ever, recovery time is variable from individual to individual, but a complete rest period of up to two weeks is usually recommended. A return to completely normal activity should be possible within six weeks.
